Founder / Director

Tommaso Franzolini is a practicing architect. After graduating at the AA with George L. Legendre, he worked for several years at Foreign Office Architects as the Project Architect for Birmingham New Street Station and several other international competitions. In 2011 he has founded Factory Futures – the AA Visiting School in Ivrea – and he now leads Studio Franzolini, an architecture & design research practice with projects in Italy and the UK.

Co-Director / Tutor

Pierre Cutellic teaches and lectures on digital technologies and practices since 2006 at E.N.S.A Paris-Malaquais. From 2007 to 2012, he has been practicing in several architectural firms in the research and development of generic and automated systems from conception to construction design and management. He joined Gehry Technologies Europe in 2008 on various and complex projects across Europe and the UAE. In 2012, Pierre founded The Computational Monkeys, an architecture and design firm, through which he now pursues his work and research.

Co-Director / Tutor

Maria Sheherazade Giudici is an architect and writer whose research focuses on the construction of modern subjectivity through the design of public space. A diploma tutor and first year studio master at the Architectural Association, in the past Maria has worked on large-scale urban projects with offices Dogma, Donis, and BAU Bucharest.

Co-Director

Edmondo Occhipinti is currently Director with Gehry Technologies Europe. His expertise includes design strategies and development of building infrastructure through parametric technologies and computer programming. Current professional involvements include project development, service strategies & execution, and project delivery.

Tutor

Lea Sattler is a french-educated architect. She’s been working at GT Europe since 2009 on large-scale projects such as the Louis Vuitton Foundation and Luma Foundation by Frank Gehry. She also worked on the side in research-studios in Paris and New York, on small-scale projects as housing and interior design. She’s been teaching about computational design for master students in Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Architecture Paris-Malaquais since 2010, in the Digital Knowledge Department.

Tutor

Fabrizio Ballabio studied at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, the ETH in Zurich and has recently completed the MA in History and Critical Thinking at the AA. Currently, he practices as an architect, writes, and is teaching at the AA both in First Year Studio and History and Theories Studies.
